DETAILS OF OBAMA HEALTH PLAN

We all talk about the problems with Mr. Obama's healthcare plan. Lets look at the written white House healthcare plan as given to our Congress for approval.

ENFORCEMENT OF THE HEALTHCARE

Every person will be issued a national ID health card. (Page 58). The government will have access to all American financial personal records. Employers that choose to become self-insured will all be audited. (Pages 195, 22).

The government will have direct access to all individual bank accounts for electronic funds transfer. (Page 59). No company can sue the government for price fixing and there will be no judicial review permitted. (This will crush private insurers). (Page 124)

When the health bill becomes law and you have insurance at the time, you will be required to take a similar plan. If no plan is available, you will be required to take the government option plan. (Page 16).

A government committee will decide what treatments and benefits you get. (Page 30). (Un- like an insurance company, there will be no appeal process for you). Your healthcare will be rationed. (Page 29). A “Health Choices Commissioner” will decide your health benefits. (Page 42)

All non-US citizens illegal or not, will be provided with free healthcare services. (Page 50). The government will mandate linguistic translation infrastructures for illegal aliens. (Page 91)

EMPLOYERS

Employers will be required to pay health care bills for part-time employees AND also for their families. (Page 126). The employer must offer the public option if his payroll is over 250 K. If he does not offer the option, he pays a 2 to 6% tax on his payroll. (Page 150). If the employer’s payroll exceeds 400 K., he will pay eight percent tax on his payroll if he does not offer the public option.( Page 149).

An employer must automatically enroll employees into the government run public plan. Taxpayers will subsidize all union retiree and community organizer health plans (UAW, ACORN, SEIU). (Page 65).

PRIVATE HEALTH PLANS

All private health care plans must conform to government rules to participate in a healthcare exchange.( Page 72). All private health care plans must participate in the health care exchange.( Page 84) (This amounts to total government control of private plans.)

RECRUITMENT FOR THE GOVERNMENT

The government will pay ACORN and AMERICORPS to sign up individuals for the government run healthcare plan.( Page 95). Those eligible for Medicaid will be automatically enrolled. (Page 102).

PHYSICIAN PAYMENTS

The government wIll set the wages for doctors. (Page 127). PhysIcIan servIces wIll be reduced for medIcaId, senIors, and the poor that are most affected. (Page239). No matter what specIalty a doctor has, he wIll be paId the same amount. (AMA approved). (Page 241)

The government wIll set the value of doctors tIme, theIr professIonal judgments, etc. (Page 253). Drs. will be prohibited from owning and investing in healthcare companies.( Page 317)

PRIVATE HEALTHCARE INDUSTRIES

All private health care plans must participate in the healthcare exchange (meaning total government control of private plans). (page 84). The government wIll control productIvIty for prIvate healthcare IndustrIes. (Page 265).

There will be a prohibition on hospital expansion, without government approval. (Page 318). Hospital expansion will hinge on community input (meaning ACORN). Hospitals will be penalized for readmissions that are deemed preventable by the government. (Page 280).

The government will mandate outcome based measures, as rationing. (Page 335). The government has the authority to disqualify other plans as Medicare advantage plans, HMOs, etc. s (page 341). The government will restrict enrollment of special needs individuals. (Page 354).

END OF LIFE CARE

A Tele-health Advisory Committee (healthcare by phone), will help in advance care planning, consulting senior citizens and assisted suicide. (euthanasia?) (Page 425) Advanced care planning will help dictate treatment as your health deteriorates. Treatment can include an order for end-of-life plans from the government.

The government will instruct and consult regarding living wills, durable powers of attorney,etc. (page 425) (Estate taxes will be locked in ahead of time.)

The government will provide approved list of end of life resources, guiding you in death. (Page 427). This will allow the government programs to order end-of-life treatment, and dictate how your life ends). The government will decide what level of treatments you may have at end of life. (Page 430)

HOME CARE SERVICES

The government will regulate rental and purchase of power driven wheelchairs. (Page 268). Cancer patient care will be rationed. (Page 272). Home care services will become community based (Payoff to ACORN), (pages 469, 472)

MARITAL , FAMILY, AND MENTAL HEALTH THERAPY

The government will cover marriage and family therapy. (Page 489). (Thus intervening in your marriage). The government will cover mental health services, and define, create, and ration those services. (Page 494).

COMMENTARY

This health plan is a very extensive document. After reading these highlights, do you think the program will make health care better or worse? You have a month to think this over before your legislators return to vote on this document. I hope they read it before they vote, while they take their month’s recess.
